Two records tell the story of our family before and after the Acadian Expulsion of 1755 from Nova Scotia: One is written in French, for the marriage of Genevieve Hebert and Michel David in Grand Pre, and the other in Spanish, for the marriage of Angelique David, Genevieve's daughter, to Henri Oubre (Ouvre, Huber) in the St. James Parish of Louisiana. Angelique was born to Genevieve Hebert and Michel David in Maryland while her family was in exile. Angelique's husband Henri Oubre was of German descent, his line tracing to the Huber family that had settled the German Coast of Louisiana. Thank you, Roberta Estes, for your kind mention of our Acadian Amerindian Ancestry DNA Project, the Haplogroup A Project, and Anne Marie Rimbault in your latest blog post about mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) testing! Thank you three times over! Anne Marie Rimbault's matrilineal descendants belong to the A2f1a mtDNA haplogroup mentioned in your article, verified through FTDNA's full genomic sequence testing and we all match! Anne Marie, her history, and her lineage, and these results, have guided all who belong to her vast, and geographically dispersed, extended Acadian Amerindian family home.
