This is not hypothetical. It is definitely real: When the Internet Archive is hacked, and then taken offline as a result, there are huge, negative ramifications for those who need to locate rare, out-of-print, historical documents online for research, among other resources. Individual access to "digitized content" is clearly put at risk.
